Live music at Tallinn Tango Weekend 2026

Tallinn Tango Trio

Regina Udod (double bass), Kaspar Uljas (bandoneon), and Samuel Bezerra (piano) form a dynamic tango trio that breathes new life into the Argentine tango tradition through the fusion of their diverse musical backgrounds. This evening marks their first collaboration — uniting Estonian double bassist Regina Udod, bandoneonist Kaspar Uljas, and Brazilian pianist Samuel Bezerra. Brought together by a shared passion for tango, they present a selection of classic Argentine tangos in their original instrumental form, specially curated for this concert and the dancers at this milonga.

Kaspar Uljas is an Estonian bandoneonist, accordionist, and composer, known for his versatile approach to tango, jazz, and world music. Having performed across Europe, as well as in Russia, Argentina, Azerbaijan, and Palestine, his career includes appearances at prestigious venues such as Het Concertgebouw and De Doelen in the Netherlands. Over the past decade, Uljas has primarily focused on the bandoneon, collaborating in ensembles such as Trio Maag, Gran Orquesta Típica OTRA, El Muro Tango, and Electrocutango. A former member of OTRA, he contributed to the Latin Grammy-nominated album Conexión Tango with Omar Mollo. His solo engagements include performances with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Uljas specializes in Argentinian tango and folklore, blending it with his background in jazz and global styles as interpreter and composer.

Samuel Bezerra is a Franco-Brazilian pianist, trained in the French pianistic tradition and known for his expressive depth and technical refinement. He began his studies in Brasília with Joel Bello Soares and later earned his degree at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, followed by two master’s degrees in solo and chamber music at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under Peep Lassmann. A prizewinner at numerous competitions — including first prizes at the Grand Prize Virtuoso competitions in Berlin and Vienna — Bezerra has performed in France, Brazil, Estonia, and Finland as a soloist and chamber musician. He is currently active in the Ilves-Bezerra piano-cello duo and the Baltic Breeze trio, appearing in prestigious concert halls and festivals across Europe.

Regina Udod started her double bass studies at the age of 12 with Marek Mere at the Viimsi Music School and continued at the Georg Ots Tallinn School of Music with Meeme Saareväli. She received her Master’s degree cum laude from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2018, studying with docent Kaupo Olt.
